Millard South Athletic Booster Club Meeting Minutes July 12, 2010 Attendees: Joey Patterson, Christy Trout, Michelle Bestenlehner, Lisa DeVries, Tony Urban, Shelly Pavich, Mary Nichols, Jerry Dartmann, Ron Hackbart, Shelly Schram, and Nolan Beyer Meeting called to order & Minutes approved Treasurer’s Report & Membership Report(s) Currently the club has $4,223.13 in the bank. Membership forms were sent out in the orientation packets. Committee Reports Athletic Program Advertising is underway, there are advertising spaces left for the 2010-2011 school year. Promote your business and support the student-athletes of Millard South by advertising in the Sports Activities Program. The Sports Activities Programs are distributed at ALL Millard South sporting events including Varsity, JV, Reserve and Freshman events. The approximate distribution is over 32,000. Information is available on our website at www.patriotbooster.com. Patriot Pride Night will be held Saturday October 23rd, 2010 at the Scott Conference Center. Contact the Booster Club: millardsouthabc@gmail.com to join a Patriot Pride Night Committee!! There are several chair opportunities, in need of volunteers: advertising and promotions; ticket sales; auction items; facility planning; gambling events, entertainment; and decorations. Advance tickets can be purchased in the Millard South Activities office or by contacting Micki Urban at tmurban@cox.net . Ticket price includes dinner, drinks, dancing, auctions & other entertainment. Meetings will start soon… All proceeds from Patriot Pride Night will benefit the Millard South Athletic Department!! Parent Sports Representatives Parent representatives are booster club members and athlete parents who represent, a seasonal sport, and communicate booster club activities to the coach and parents. Join us at our monthly meetings to learn more. Please sign up today for the 2010-2011 school year!! (sponsored by HyVee) Thursday, August 19th 11AM-7PM at your Stony Brook Hy-Vee Parking Lot. Food provided by HyVee: Smoked BBQ Pork Sandwich, Sweet Corn, Baked Beans, & Beverage $5.00 per person. ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT MILLARD SOUTH PATRIOTS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB. At 6pm we will have special appearances from: Millard South Student Athletes, Millard South Marching Band, Millard South Dance Team, Millard South Cheerleaders, and Millard South Coaches. Upcoming Events Discussed Student Registration is August 3rd and 4th, and we are sending out a call for volunteers to assist the Millard South Athletic Booster Club during the hours of 8am-4pm. Fall Sports Night is scheduled for August 24th, 2010. Business tailgates were discussed to explore community involvement and support of the MSABC. MSABC is going to have a float in the Millard Days Parade… athletes in uniform, or wearing Millard South apparel are encouraged to join us!! Volunteer Activities The Millard South Athletic Booster Club is a volunteer organization. The success of our club is 100% because of our volunteers! Help us support our athletes!! In an effort to both thank and recognize our volunteers – we will be recognizing Volunteer(s) of the Month!! Volunteer(s) of the month will be recognized in the meeting minutes and on the website AND will receive a booster club t-shirt and a gift certificate to a sponsoring restaurant. Please help the club.
